Welcome! Quick back story: Straight and Narrow, Inc. was founded by husband and wife team; Stephen and Malina Jeffers. In 2005, the couple (then with third partner Candyce Payne), formed an entertainment group called By the Book Entertainment. The trio noticed a lack of any substantial nightlife for Christians in Indianapolis and thus took it upon themselves to change that.  Payne and Jeffers rented a large barn on the property of the Indiana State Fairgrounds, completely changed the look of its insides with rented tables, chairs, décor and sound equipment and had an event on a Saturday night. They called it The Sanctuary- an upscale lounge for the contemporary Christian. What started as a night of 76 attendees mingling, sharing, eating and dancing has now grown into an Indianapolis staple.

Years later, the organization now called Straight & Narrow (as referenced in Matthew 7:14), is home to The Sanctuary, The Cypher, the TEEN Sanctuary, Pepper; A Food Review from our (black) perspective and the Straight & Narrow T-Shirt line. It is vital that Straight & Narrow continues to create a place for young adults to meet and socialize in a non-threatening atmosphere void of profanity and any vulgarity. All events coordinated by S&N are "clean" and free of negativity, drugs, profanity and smoking.

Straight and Narrow is the strongest, most on trend network of Christians that together draws new members by way of artistic cultural outlets.

We believe that Christians can look like anything. We believe that Christians can and should have a nightlife and means to meet one another outside of church walls. We believe that spirituality reigns verses religion. And lastly, we believe that the community of Indianapolis and specifically, the youth of Indianapolis, should know the value, enjoyment and fulfillment of a Christian lifestyle, as to keep our streets safe and residents and tourists happy and coming back for more.

So, who is Straight & Narrow, you ask? Well, we are indeed Christians compelled to stay on the straight and narrow path which leads to an eternal life with God. We are not defined by a denomination nor the clothes we wear. We are simple on the straight and narrow path. Are you? Do you WANT to be?
