In an effort to provide a monthly clean event that is consistent and consistently entertaining, Straight & Narrow has created The Cypher- an open mic night - it used to be held every third Friday. For three years, Starbucks let us (and only us) have free reign of the cafe once per month. Now, starting in August, join us at 300 East (at 300 East Fall Creek) every first Friday. You'll find singers, poets, authors, drummers, actors, etc. at this haven for writers. Whether attendees are shy or bold, new or old to the poetry scene- the Cypher is where young greats have gotten their start- as can you. For obvious reasons, we do not allow profanity to be used over the mic. But that's the only rule! Musicians, random passersby, lyricists and monologue artists join together to relax and share. Join us, every third Friday from 8pm until 11pm. We won't bite. Neither will our host; SunRae Phoenix.
